Hi, I’m Madison Caputi
A born storyteller with an exuberant imagination, I have been crafting unique and memorable stories with one-of-a-kind characters for as long as I can remember.
Becoming a published children’s book author is truly my childhood dream come true. Before pursuing authorship I worked in the world of real estate for several years, helping people find and build their new dream homes. I am also an alumni of Missouri State University, where I studied Secondary English Education.
I currently live in the vibrant beach town of Venice, Florida (the shark tooth capital of the world) with my husband and two adorable kiddos.
Aside from writing fun, engaging children’s stories, I enjoy playing in the sunshine with my spirited girl and joyful boy, reading a suspenseful, edge-of-your-seat novel beachside or poolside, and flexing my creative passions in various forms (crafting, jewelry-making, sketching, you name it).
I am a gift-giver, a loyal friend, an ocean lover and a bit of a clean freak. I LOVE to read and I believe you are never too old to enjoy the magic of a picture book.

When I was a young girl, I remember meeting THE Nicholas Sparks. He came to my town as a stop on his latest book tour. I stood before him as he signed a copy of his newest book. I told him (a bit too excitedly) “You’re one of my favorite authors! Your work is so inspiring. I want to be an author someday too.” He gave me a warm, genuine smile and told me to never. stop. dreaming.
Today, I am honored to offer the same encouragement and creative insight to the next generation of creatives through my own author visits.
Want to bring the fun of storytelling to your local school, bookstore, library or event? My visitations are engaging sessions that can be tailored to captivate audiences of all ages. My main goal? To spark curiosity and a love for reading. I’m happy to read my story aloud, answer questions, sign book copies, take photos and tailor my presentation to your specific interests. Most visitations will range 30 - 60 minutes depending on your needs.

A Note From the Author
My debut picture book, Tiki Tim, was largely inspired by my experiences growing up in Hawaii. It was also influenced by the beautiful coastal community in Southwest Florida that I currently call home.
The story explores the trial of finding friendship in the midst of being the “new kid,” as I know all too well what that feels like — my family and I moved over 10 times across 6 states by the time I graduated high school. Talk about a nomadic life!
To all of my readers who find themselves in the “new kid” boat, I hope that Tiki Tim inspires you to be bold, brave, friendly and adventurous. To my readers who know of someone new to their school or community — say hello, invite them to play, and try to help them feel at home. You never know! Those small acts of kindness may very well lead you to your new best friend.
